Parody Ad Groupwork/research/brainstorming

Organize yourself into groups (2-4 people in a group).

One group member (only one) will create a OneNote Notebook.  Name it something appropriate and related to your task/project.  Identify all group members within the document.

Then, after the Notebook is created, invite your group members (and your teacher - Knechtel, John - pick the second one) to share and edit this file.

All group members can access the invitation to the file by going to your Outlook Webmail App (this is located from your ‘My Site’)

Once all members can access the document, answer the following questions:

  1. What are the ‘factors’ that guide consumer behaviour?  Explain.
  2. What are the marketing techniques that try to increase consumer demand for a product/brand? Explain.
  3. What is a satire?
  4. What are the 4 satirical elements of a satire that you will be incorporating into your parody ad? Explain

Decide on a product/brand and an advertisement of that brand.

Based on that decision, answer the following questions:

  1. What factors are connected to this product/bran?  Explain those connections.
  2. What marketing techniques are being used in the ad you have chosen? Explain those techniques.

Finally, begin to brainstorm ways in which you can apply satirical elements to create a parody of the ad you have chosen.
